On 10 February, the entire city will be transformed into a culinary map of birthday attractions: from dishes inspired by 1926, through seafood classics and vegan options, to sweet desserts and warming drinks at exceptional prices. These offers are inspired by history, the taste of the sea and the local atmosphere. Gdynia's 100th birthday is the perfect time to go out, try something new and feel the Gdynia community spirit at the tables of local restaurants and cafés.
Flavours and prices that will take you back in time
Some places are literally rolling back prices to 1926. At Karczma Stary Port, you can eat tomato soup for PLN 1, herring for PLN 2 or Russian pierogi for PLN 9. The offer is valid until midnight on 10 February, without prior reservation, until the dishes are sold out. The atmosphere of the old days can also be felt at Oberża 86, a restaurant recognised by the Michelin guide, where adult guests can enjoy Kashubian ratafia and a personal tour of Domek Abrahama by the chef and owner, Piotr Ciomek. If fish is not your thing, you can try a vegan delicacy at Atelier Smaku on Górnośląski Square – a birthday soup at a special price.
Many restaurants have prepared special birthday dishes inspired by the city and the sea
Anniversary herring at Pasta Miasta, birthday pizza ‘Gdynia’ at Ogniem i Piecem, birthday focaccia at Foka – these are just some of the options. Monte Verdi invites you to try its seafood pizza and Gdynia herring in three flavours, while Zielony Rower serves a birthday set with (G)DYNIA pumpkin soup and classic potato pancakes. At NEON, the chef combines his Silesian roots with the iconic NEON tartare, offering guests a dish inspired by the Silesian Hekele, i.e. herring tartare on toast with mustard mayonnaise, pickled cucumbers and grated egg for PLN 22.
The well-known and popular Cafe Strych invites you to extended birthday celebrations: from 6 to 10 February, they have a birthday promotional port set, including a drink and herring sandwiches. The special offer also includes an original drink inspired by the year 1926. The day after Gdynia's birthday, the café has prepared a musical evening with live shanties. The well-known, iconic Bar Smakosz in Gdynia Chylonia has also based its offer on the year 1926, offering a Jubilee Menu: Flavours of 1926. Their offer includes pea soup + a main course (meat and vegetarian options) at a special price of PLN 19.26.
At Pyra Bar Gdynia, the special birthday offer includes mulled wine, winter tea and Kashubian herring with baked potatoes. Continuing with the traditional theme, Tawerna Gdynia has a special offer for you – say the password ‘100th anniversary of Gdynia’ – three mulled drinks to take away at special prices of PLN 15 and PLN 20. The same applies at Restauracja Portowa – there, too, if you say the password ‘Gdynia's Birthday’, you will get a special offer, i.e. 10% off the entire menu. Following with the theme of passwords, Olio Pizza Napolitana offers a warming homemade infusion or homemade lemonade with every pizza you order when you say the magic words ‘100 years of Gdynia’.
Cafés and patisseries have also joined in the birthday celebrations
Miło.Mi tempts us with ice cream at PLN 4.50 per scoop, and Kofeina Gdynia serves a real curiosity – Blue Pearl, a colour-changing tea made from clitoria ternatea. At BOSKO, the special ‘Smak Gdyni’ (Taste of Gdynia) ice cream costs only PLN 1 per scoop, but the promotion is valid for a limited time, so hurry up! At the Krokus café, when you purchase a meal or dessert, you will receive a complimentary winter tea, and at the Omni Kaiser Patisserie, a birthday cake with coffee is available at a special price, along with sweet macaroons. Besova has a special treat for you, a meringue cake with a 20% discount.
Evening atmosphere
After dark, Gdynia does not slow down. Mulled wine, winter teas, cocktails inspired by the city's history and happy hour in the rhythm of 1926 – this is a preview of what Gdynia's pubs and bars have prepared for you. Some places are extending their opening hours on the city's birthday, so there is time to visit more than one place.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Gdynia on 10 February 2026, Lolo Thai Jolo will be open until 11:30 p.m. For this occasion, they have prepared a special, limited-edition culinary treat: a tasting portion of Tom Yum soup called ‘Gdynia Port Soup’. The name refers to the port character of the city – the soup will be served with fish caught by Gdynia fishing boats. To mark the anniversary, they will give away 100 portions of this soup. A tasting portion of ‘Gdynia Port Soup’ will be added FREE to every dish ordered on 10 February between 4:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. (until the pool of 100 portions is exhausted).
At KONSTELACJA, from 6:00 p.m., you can enjoy an entire menu inspired by the districts of Gdynia + coffee or tea for residents for PLN 5. At Midnight Horror Bar, during special hours – from 19:26 to 20:26 – you can enjoy 2-for-1 promotion, 20% off the entire menu, and karaoke.
Three sister establishments – Białe Wino i Owoce, Salut and W Różowych Okularach – offer a 10% discount on their entire menu and free warming tea for every guest. Małpi Pub, on the other hand, has prepared all its mulled wines at a promotional price of PLN 10, accompanied by good rock music playing from the speakers. Two unique items await guests at Ukryta Wioska – the ‘Marynarz’ and ‘Bus Driver’ cocktails. Although they differ in character, they share an authentic history (as well as a promotional price when you buy two). PIF PAF has prepared a special offer – on Gdynia's birthday, hostesses will be handing out 100 vouchers that can be exchanged for a drink for PLN 1. In addition, they offer a game of billiards for only PLN 10.
