Gdynia LIPDUB 100 – a film starring the entire city. To celebrate Gdynia's 100th birthday, a unique and energetic event will be organised – a city LIPDUB, i.e. a spectacular performance in which the residents themselves will become the main characters.
Lipdub is a form of performance originating in the United States. It consists of a joint, planned performance of scenes to the rhythm of a well-known song – all in one uninterrupted camera shot.
It is the camera that will guide viewers through the most recognisable places in Gdynia: streets, boulevards, squares, parks and institutions, rediscovering them, vibrant with the life and energy of the residents.
The joint project ‘Gdynia LIPDUB 100’ will be a huge undertaking, requiring the cooperation of hundreds of people – Gdynia residents, organisations, municipal units and volunteers. The rehearsals, preparations and the recording itself will become a local celebration, where everyone will be able to feel that they are creating something bigger than everyday life. The temporary closure of parts of the city for the duration of the project will turn into a joyful experience of shared fun and creative activity.
