Jubilee concert of sea songs for the 100th anniversary of Gdynia

The ‘Jubilee concert of sea songs for the 100th anniversary of Gdynia’ combines the fun associated with the city's 100th anniversary with a presentation of elements of maritime culture, which is so strongly associated with our region. Seafaring music, whether traditional or contemporary, is part of world culture, and the best place for such presentations is Gdynia – the city of sailing ships and seafarers.

The 100th anniversary of this maritime city cannot be celebrated without an event such as the ‘Jubilee concert of sea songs for the 100th anniversary of Gdynia’.

Two days and three concerts performed by the best bands associated with maritime culture in Poland. Two stages: one on board the museum ship ‘Dar Pomorza’ and, traditionally, the Concert Shell on Grunwaldzki Square.

The stage of the ‘Dar Pomorza’ will feature bands performing traditional sea songs, while the Concert Shell will host a contemporary repertoire related to the sea and, at noon, a ‘Concert of Sea Songs for Children’.

An important element of the event will be a competition for the best song about Gdynia, performed during concerts by invited bands and soloists.

The concerts will be free of charge, open to the public, and they will be a major tourist attraction promoting our city and its maritime culture traditions.

All concerts will also feature content between performances, prepared by the hosts, relating to the anniversary, culture and history of Gdynia. The concert will feature many well-known and popular bands.
