Premiere of a play about Gdynia at the Municipal Theatre

The premiere of a play based on Aleksandra Boćkowska's book ‘Gdynia. Pierwsza w Polsce’ (Gdynia. First in Poland) will open a new chapter in the history of the Municipal Theatre.
It will be the first premiere produced under the direction of Marta Miłoszewska, and directed by Daria Kopiec, an artist from Gdynia. The play will be an attempt to tackle the myth of Gdynia – its glamour, shadows and contemporary significance. The creators will address the theme of the city as an idea, a symbol of modernity and a space for human stories.

The premiere is scheduled for 7 March 2026, celebrated worldwide as International Theatre Day.

The event will be one of the most important cultural events of the season in Gdynia.
